A table in the browser
Play mahjong online free
Air Mahjong runs in the browser you already have. The American game, the card, and a seat with friends or with the computer are free. You do not install anything, and you do not need an account to deal the first hand.
Free in the browser, with friends or with three computer players.

Three short lessons. Then one calm hand.
Each prepared lesson runs without an account, room code or live opponent. You can retry as often as you like.
- Keep useful tiles together.
Pass 2 Bam, 6 Bam and 9 Bam while protecting the matching groups.
Practice the Charleston → - Call with a target.
Use two 1 Bams and a discard to form a Crosswind pung. Say why an ordinary pair call is different.
Practice a legal call → - Recognize a matching exchange.
Trade your 1 Bam for an exposed joker after drawing, before discarding.
Practice a joker exchange →
Then play one hand with this mission
Finish the Charleston, open the card and choose one possible line. Before each discard, name one tile your target still needs. Winning is optional; recognizing your next useful tile is the learning goal.
Start a free coached practice hand →This opens the included practice coach with computer players. Optional personal Kit voice coaching is separate.
Sitting down
Open the lobby
Go to Air Mahjong. The room on the first screen is the table you will play at. Choose a setting if you like. It changes the room, not the rules.
Choose your company
Learn as you play deals a practice match with three computer players and turns the beginner coach on. Start a table opens a seat for people. Your name is optional either way.
Share a code, or just begin
A friends table gives you a six-character code. The other three players join with that code. They do not need an account either. In a practice match you are already seated.
Play the American hand
The card is the Air Mahjong House Card 2026. Pass during the Charleston, then draw and discard. Declare Mah Jongg when your tiles match a line. How the hand works is the longer version, if you want it beside you.
What is free
Playing is free. So are groups and club tournaments. You can sit at a public table, open one for friends, or practice against the computer. Large print is in Tools at the table, for the card, the rack, and the discards.
Two optional extras are separate from the game. Club is for a host who wants the people in their groups to share a table style. Kit is a personal instructor you can talk with during a hand. Neither is required to learn or to play, and the beginner coach in a practice match is part of the free table, not part of Kit.
Phones, and leaving the table
The same page works on a phone, a tablet, and a computer. There is no app to install. On a small screen, Wide play and the card’s own zoom are there so the rack and the line can be read without turning the phone into a puzzle.
There is no turn timer. If you leave a friends table, the computer covers your seat until you return in that tab. A group table or a tournament waits instead of playing for you. Either way, the hand is still the one described in the rules.
Which game you will get
The lobby’s game defaults to American mahjong. Hong Kong and riichi are there if your group wants them, and they are free too. They are different rules: no Charleston, no jokers, a thirteen-tile hand of sets and a pair. Switch only if that is the game you meant. The guides, starting at Learn, stay with the American card.
Common questions
Do I have to download an app or create an account?
No. Open the site, start a table or a practice match, and play. An account exists for people who want saved groups or an optional paid extra. It is not the door to the game.
Can I play on my phone?
Yes. The table is built for a phone browser as well as a laptop. Large print and the card zoom are there for the line and the rack. Nothing is installed.
How do friends join?
Start a table and give them the six-character code, or the invite link. They open it in a browser and sit down. They do not need an account.
Is every part of the site free?
The game, practice matches, groups, and tournaments are free. Club membership and Kit, the personal instructor, are optional paid add-ons. You can ignore both and keep playing.
